    GFCI Fires: Fault Identification

A GFCI is a safety device, and it can still start a fire. This course shows how GFCIs fail, and which faults they were never built to detect.

    You will learn:
    - What a GFCI measures, what it controls, and how TEST and RESET work across device generations.
    - The five direct ignition modes: terminations, the face and plug, internal parts, water and contamination, and counterfeits.
    - The four blind spots: overloads and short circuits, series arcs, glowing connections, and protection defeated by miswiring or latent failure.
    - How to diagnose burned devices in an interactive lab, and what a tripped device does and does not prove.
    - The examination protocol, including the authenticity check.
